An Incorporated body of Community Volunteers covering the Bellarine Peninsula East of the Barwon River, and the Catchment area of the Bellarine Ramsar Wetlands. Our purpose is to promote biodiversity, sustainable use of the land and water resources, and to create a healthy and natural environment across the Bellarine Peninsula.
Bellarine Landcare Group (BLG) covers the entire Bellarine Peninsula, East of the Barwon River, was formed in 1992, and is a member of The Bellarine Catcment Network, (BCN). BCN, formerly the Swan Bay Integrated Catchment Committee (SBICMC) became the umbrella organisation in 2004. for many likeminded groups on the Bellarine Peninsula.
Projects include:
- Bellarine Secondary College and Bellarine Landcare Group Indigenous Nursery - Individuals are very welcome to volunteer 10am-4pm. Mon, Tues, Thurs. Jama Moran, is the Coordinator.
- Farm plantation and wildlife linkage corridors or revegetation projects, using nursey plants. Subsidies are sometimes available to members and applications for grant funding to assist our members for priority environmental issues can be made.
- Pest Plant and Animal (Foxes and Rabbits) Control projects
- Environmental Best Management Practice (EBMP) training is available to small and large Landholders.
Meetings are held on the second wednesday evening of each month at the Marcus Hill Hall at 7:30. Guest Speakers, Activities and Current Issues are discussed.
Membership is open to urban and rural residents:
- $30 per property over 1 hectare and includes 2 family members,
- $10 Urban or less than 1 hectare per member and
- $5 per Pensioner or health Card conncession.

Produces more than 50,000 local provenance indigenous seedlings per year for Landcare members.
