The Upper Barwon Landcare Network (UBLN) was formed in 1997 as an umbrella group for community groups operating in the Otway foothills & plains area of the Upper Barwon River and tributaries bounded by Colac, Forrest and Inverleigh.

Barongarook Landcare Group
The Barongarook Landcare Group was formed in 1997. The group covers the catchment area of the Barongarook Creek which flows into Lake Colac. It also covers a secion of the Boundary Creek from its source as far as the Apollo Bay Road at Yeodene. The Group has been funded to employ a part time Landcare facilitator. The funding is through the Victorian Government Local Landcare Facilitators Initiative being implemented by the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment. A partnership has been formed with Otway Community College who will employ the facilitator.
