Look out for myrtle rust - Report it but don’t spread it

Myrtle rust is a serious fungal disease of many garden and bushland plants, including gum trees, paperbarks, bottlebrushes, tea tress, lilly pillys.

Myrtle rust is a serious fungal disease of many garden and bushland plants, including gum trees, paperbarks, bottlebrushes, tea tress, lilly pillys.

The yellow spores of myrtle rust can be easily spread by:

-           movement of infested plants

-          movement of contaiminated equipment

-          wind, water and gravity

-          animals

-          humans (on clothing and jewellery)

-          vehicles
